Christmas in April

Remember when I posted about how I learned that mistletoe is actually a parasite that grows in huge bundles in the trees around here? Well, here are a couple pictures so you can see what I was blathering on about.

  1. aloha Ashley,
Since I am crazy about knowing useless things I have done some research into the origin of kissing under a mistletoe. What I found out was SHOCKING. First of all, way back in time people belieed that life spontaneously sprang from birds' droopings. They thought that abirds pooped on a tree branch and that is how mistletoe was created. This is actually how the plant got its name. Mistle is dung and toe is an old word for a twig. Incredibly romantic, don't you think? Unfortunately I haven't learnt yet who came up with the kissing part. Let me know if you do. love
